When to stop HRT abruptly
- Sudden severe chest pain or shortness of breath with haemoptysis
- Unexplained pain or swelling in one leg
- Severe abdominal pain, jaundice, hepatitis or liver enlargement
- High blood pressure (systolic above 160mmHg or diastolic above 95mmHg)
- Prolonged immobility
- Serious neurological effects
- Any risk factor contradicting treatment
