Summary

Section 9: Summary

Contraception is a vast and evolving subject, as women have ever more options open to them.  LARCs are becoming more popular and are often used for non-contraceptive purposes.  Good contraceptive counselling should be tailored to the individual woman, based on her preference, cultural attitudes, medical eligibility, non-contraceptive benefits, risk profile etc.  It is not a one option fits all.  For more in-depth information on contraception, quick starting, emergency contraception, and audit ideas see FRSH website here.
